Lyme Lunge fundraising total continues to grow

THE Lyme Lunge fundraising total continues to grow - with £5,400 raised so far.

The fancy dress swim on New Year's Day saw alsmot 400 plucky swimmers plunge into the rough seas at Lyme Regis in aid of charity.

The £5,400 raised to date includes a fantastic £1,000 donation by a family from Essex and £150 from the tooth fairies at Lyme Bay Dentistry, plus several other great donations.

The Essex family raised a further £1,300 for Macmillan Nurses, the dentists another £100 through a Just Giving site, and over £200 raised so far by ‘Anna and Jackie’ for the Pelican cancer charity.

“Well done, everyone,” said Rotarian Jim Moseley, organiser of the event for the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis.

“So many very generous people helping us support Children's Hospice South West which is this year's chosen charity, and other charities,too.

"This was a superb, fun-filled event with many of our community taking part.

"These monies will go towards supporting many very ill children and their families through the work of the hospice. Thanks, and keep it coming!"
