ACCESSIBLE LYME REGIS

Lyme Regis is one of the greatest places to visit on the south coast but we recognise it poses challenges for visitors for whom accessibility is an important consideration.
Lyme’s location – particularly its hills – might prove discouraging but there are many areas of the town and its seafront which are accessible. The town council is working to improve its information about accessibility and related facilities.
Beach Wheelchairs
The town council has two beach wheelchairs so that you can go on our sandy and pebble beaches, as well as a floating wheelchair so you can enjoy the sea. These can reserved free of charge through Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442138.

Step-free route to seafront
Signs indicate the step-free route from the top of the town (Langmoor Garden gates) to the seafront, and the reverse route. This will help wheelchair users, parents with buggies, and walkers for whom using steps is not comfortable.
The route is about 550m long but has the benefit of fabulous views.
Public Conveniences
Accessible public conveniences are at the following locations:
- Marine Parade
- Monmouth Beach
- Charmouth Road car park
- Broad Street
- Holmbush car park
