Details of Lyme Regis Jubilee celebrations announced
Details of Lyme Regis’s 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebrations have been revealed, with a number of great attractions lined up for the five-day programme.
Lyme Regis hotels are already expected to be full with groups and families taking early summer holidays by the time the festivities start on June 1st, and those visiting the area at the time will be able to enjoy a wide and varied schedule of events to help mark 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s illustrious reign.
Highlights will include the BIG Sunday Lunch, taking place at the town’s Woodmead Halls on the 3rd, the ceremonial beacon lighting on the 4th, and the closing open air dance at Marine Parade on the 5th.
The event that residents will surely be most looking forward to, however, is the street party that will be held in King’s Way, also on the 5th. Suitable for all ages, this very special occasion will be an excellent way for both local and visiting families to celebrate a truly historic UK milestone.
