Farewell procession for retiring lifeboat
Lyme Regis are looking to commemorate their long serving RNLI Lifeboat with a special procession through the town.
The lifeboat has been serving the town since 1997 and the lifeboat service would like to say thank you to those in the area who helped pay for it with their contributions.
The Pearl of Dorset will be ending its 14 year old run of saving lives in March, where it will be replaced by Spirit of Loch Fyne, a newer larger boat with up to date technology.
The procession will be held at 12.00pm on February 26th where the boat will towed from the lifeboat station located by the beach and escorted up Cobb Road, Pound Street and Broad Street before returning.
After the parade, Mayor Sally Holman will be making an address outside the lifeboat station for the crowds.
If you are staying in any of the Lyme Regis hotels or B&Bs at the time, why not come along and watch the special parade.
