Lyme Regis has great Easter weekend and reflects on the two week holiday
Most Lyme Regis B&B and Lyme Regis Hotel rooms were full from Thursday over the weekend, with the average stay three nights.
Some visitors stayed longer and the self catering cottages and appartments seemed full for the two weeks.
Lesley Stone owner of Lyme Regis three star hotel The Royal Lion and chair of the Lyme Regis Hotels and Restaurant association said "the weekend was good in my hotel , but the midweek part of the Easter holidays were a little slow."
Wayne Bradbury of Charnwood B&B Guest House said "Our B&B was full for four nights over the weekend and allthough a little slower over the two weeks it was still a good start to the summer and I am pleased considering the weather forecast and the recession".
Lyme Regis had good weather right up untill Easter Monday. The town was full of people and the traders seemed to be at full steam. Ice creams , Dorset teas and cakes.
After a long winter it is always a good thing to see all the Lyme Regis accommodation taken at Easter and car parks full.
There were lots of activities like fossil walks on the Jurassic Coast, walking the South West Coast path and countryside walks. The Churches in Lyme had Easter services with a walk down Broad street with a cross on Friday and celebration services on Sunday.
It was lovely to see people of all ages having a great time, enjoying a stay in Lyme Regis and sampling its cafe culture and fine restaurants. The pubs were busy too and lots of locally brewed ales were sunk.
Capped off by Easter Sunday's Easter bonnet parade with the fantastic views you get in Lyme Regis in Spring time.
