Lyme Regis Operatic Society commended
The operatic talent of Lyme Regis has been officially recognised for the excellence of its last production, Me and My Girl.
A special ceremony in Torquay presented one of the stars and a member of the production crew with the prestigious National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) District Achievement Award.
All those behind the acclaimed show were proudly represented by wardrobe mistress Maureen Yell and Nicky Sweetland, who played the role of Sally throughout the run in 2011. The award was given to them by Nick Lawrence, the South West Regional Councillor for NODA, who also produced the successful performance. Me and My Girl was just the latest in a long line of successful events for the Lyme Regis Operatic Society, which was founded in 1920.
With Lyme Regis accommodation available throughout the year, any visitors to the town will be able to enjoy the society’s next anticipated production, Yeomen of the Guard, which is due to take place between May 15th and 19th.
