Lyme Regis Sailing Club enjoys partnership dinner

35 members of the Lyme Regis Sailing Club enjoyed a dinner put on by the nearby Axe Yacht Club from Seaton Bay recently, which resulted in a renewed commitment to improving links between the two.

Lyme Regis Sailing ClubAt this very special event, which also played host to the Mayor of Lyme Regis, speeches were made by representatives from both organisations (Commodore Gordon Wright from the Axmouth group and Vice Commodore Alan Cottis from Lyme Regis), who spoke about the close social and sailing relationships the two clubs had shared in years past and the mutual desire for this to be restored.

The evening came about through Bob and Shelagh Mercer, who belong to both clubs and were presented with a bottle of wine and bouquet of flowers for their efforts.

Numerous visitors each year stay at Lyme Regis accommodation to enjoy the fantastic waters that surround the town, and its sailing club has been making the most of what the amazing West Dorset coastline has to offer since as long ago as 1921.
