The Hub Youth Centre Lyme RegisPopular local youth music group B Sharp had the honour of being the first ensemble to entertain an audience at the venue, which has been funded by the local town council, a grant from the Jubilee People’s Millions fund, and the innovative Energyshare project.

Singing self-penned song ‘Go Lyme’ as an encore, B Sharp were seen by 150 cheering parents and fans, with the group’s director thanking the nearby Marine Theatre for the loan of vital technical equipment.

Decorated with sails representing the town’s maritime heritage, the building was greeted with appreciation by those in attendance, who had previously seen the site unused for five years.

The Hub has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, and those involved are looking forward to its future as a major centre for youth events and activities like gigs, youth arts, summer schemes and skating.
