RedBull Re-Visits Lyme Regis
2011 saw a first for the famous Lyme Regis Harbor when Redbull brought the best wakeboarders from around the world to jump the historic listed North Wall.
The 'Harbor Reach' was the first of its kind, utilising a revolutionary new cable tow wakeboarders were pulled through the harbor to hit jumps that projected them over the 15 foot wide wall. As if the distance wasn't a big enough challenge, the riders were also throwing in inverted spins which they were landing, unbelievably, perfectly.
Looking forwards to 2012 and Redbull are coming back even bigger and better then last year. The extreme sports brand is not only bringing to Lyme 'Harbor Reach 2' but also accompanying it with their truly epic stunt planes. The exact details of the event are yet to be released but it is rumoured wakeboarders will be jumping out, and then back into, the harbor.
The 2011 Redbull event saw Lyme Regis Hotels fully booked and demand for accommodation was at an all time high. It is expected that with the addition of the planes the town will be busier then ever giving a valuable economic boost as well as an outstanding evening.
The event is on the 21st of July which marks the start of the Lyme Regis Lifeboat week.
