Lyme Regis - The Cobb

Region basks in glorious March sunshine

It was a great weekend to be in the South West as temperatures soared and people relaxed under cloudless skies.

Lyme Regis BeachThousands flocked to the region’s seaside resorts to make the most of the unseasonably warm March weather, which saw highs of 20 degrees recorded. The Met Office has predicted more of the same, too, with the brilliant start to the spring set to continue throughout the week.

Temperatures reached up to 10 degrees higher than average for the time of year, making the South West one of the best places to spend the weekend. A fitting start to British Summer Time, the weather was sure to have left people feeling that they don’t always have to go abroad to experience a fantastic beach holiday.

With Lyme Regis hotels expected to be packed over the summer season, anyone visiting the town this weekend no doubt took advantage of being treated to the kind of sun-soaked conditions more often enjoyed in July and August.
