Renowned King’s College choir comes to Lyme Regis
There is a treat in store for any music fans staying at Lyme Regis hotels this month, as the world-famous Collegium Regale choir of King’s College, Cambridge University, comes to the town’s parish church of St Michael’s.
Best known for its performance of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, which is broadcast on the BBC and heard by as many as 120 million people worldwide every Christmas, the group is now set to embark on a brief tour of selected UK venues, with Lyme being named as one of the lucky destinations.
The choral of scholars’ repertoire also extends beyond traditional classical works, with spirituals, contemporary songs and even covers of artists like the Beach Boys and Michael Jackson thrown in for good measure!
The concert takes place on Sunday, April 15th at 7:30pm; tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre (01297 442138) and on the door, costing £10 for adults and £5 for children.
