The Art Crawl
On Thursday 13 September, Lyme Regis ArtsFest will be bringing together three strands of its programme into one fun-packed evening, christened 'The Art Crawl'.
The action starts between 5 and 7pm at three locations: the Baptist Church Hall, the Malthouse and the Inn Plaice at the Pilot Boat. For the first time, these popular exhibitions are staying open for leisurely evening viewing and buying (also on the 14th and 15th Sept). The second stop is the Lyme Regis Museum, where from 5.30 till 7.30pm guests can take some refreshment and chat with artists involved in the launch of 'Re:collection', a joint ArtsFest-Museum initiative for 2012-13. The evening's final destination is the Marine Theatre where at 8pm graphic designer Keith Robinson will share the 'Secrets of Animation' in an illustrated talk and Q and A session for the whole family (tickets from TIC or on the door, £5pp).
Everyone is welcome to join in at one, two or all three venues on this first Art Crawl! If you are on holiday staying in Lyme Regis accommodation then do come along.
'Re:collection' is a year-long project where artists take inspiration from artefacts or stories in the Lyme Regis Museum to create original new works across the arts spectrum to be presented at ArtsFest 2013. For those who'd like to do their own 're:collecting', textile and 2D artist Jennie Pearson is running a Re:collection Workshop at the Museum on Wednesday 12 Sept from 11.00 to 16.00. Contact Jennie for more details on 01297 442902.
