Lyme Regis - The Cobb

They Think It's All Over

For most football clubs the season is over, but not for the Seasiders of Lyme Regis who, like a certain London club, have an important fixture this Saturday, 19th May.

Lyme Regis AFCThe past season has been one of the most successful ever enjoyed by our town football club and the final game of the season against the might of HMS Edinburgh should provide a memorable finale. Our visitors are an unknown quantity but in the true traditions of the Royal Navy are expected to provide tough opposition for the Seasiders' title winning first team.

This season they won the Perry Street Premier Division by 11 points, only losing 1 of their 20 games and ending up with an impressive +66 goal difference. The strength continues through the club's other teams with the reserves winning the Dorset Junior Cup for the first time in 12 years, beating Galaxy of Portland 5-0. Not to be outdone the Bantams won the Kenny Hodges Cup in an action packed final where they scored after 5 seconds and the Under 14s joined the party by winning the Dorset League.

So whether you are a local, visiting for the day or staying in Lyme Regis accommodation get along to the Davey Fort ground in Charmouth road on Saturday for the 2pm kick off.
