Wanted! Horticultural Society seeks coordinator for next year’s show
Uplyme and Lyme Regis Horticultural Society holds regular meetings, family, social and educational events and outings, with something to interest everyone who enjoys growing flowers and vegetables, gardening – or just watching other people do it!
Garden clubs are a popular way to find out more about gardening, and also to meet fellow gardeners and plant enthusiasts in the area. The Society currently has about 200 members, and welcomes everyone to all their events, whether or not they are members.
The Horticultural Society is seeking a volunteer or volunteers to work with the committee to coordinate next year’s Annual Show. The work is interesting and provides an opportunity to meet many of the members. Knowledge of gardening is not necessary but plenty of enthusiasm is essential for this stimulating and rewarding role that has the full backing and support of the committee. If you would like to discuss this role with the Chairman please phone Jenny Harding on 01297 444034.
The next monthly talk is on Wednesday August 22nd at 7.30 p.m. It is a practical demonstration at WOODMEAD HALLS, LYME REGIS by Phil Gamble on ‘Propagation by Soft, semi-ripe and hardwood cuttings or seed’. Members free; non-members £2.
