An exhibition by Dorset and Devon artists who are responding to the iconic Jurassic Coast, its people and local history, its geology and palaeontology, its colours, shapes and rhythms. The undulating shore and inland hills of this coast continue to inspire artists in every media, as do the many found objects picked up while beachcombing, from 180 million year old ammonites washed out of the cliffs to 1950s ceramic fragments from the old town dump’s recent landslide. The everchanging light, frequent storms and busy beach and harbour life offer great opportunities for painters, sculptors and photographers alike to capture and share with us the essence of coastal living. As well as enjoying original work, visitors and residents will be able to browse through a wide range of reproductions, prints and cards as well as books which have been created by local artists.
If you wish to take part in this exhibition or want to apply to become a member of Town Mill Arts, please contact Philip Clayton at email@example.com.
