Bayleaf Cottage is an old stone house in an historic, quiet street in the heart of Lyme. There are several good cafes, restaurants and galleries in the same street or very nearby. The single room is up two carpeted flights of stairs with a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities and a modern shared bath/shower room on the floor below. The Bakery, for delicious breakfasts and well-known for its excellent breads, pastries and meals, is right opposite the room.

The owner of Bayleaf Cottage is generally around to answer any queries you may have and you are very welcome to sit in the small, sunny courtyard in the summer.

Coombe Street is an exceptionally attractive, friendly, narrow street of colour-washed cottages, mainly dating from the early 19th Century.

There is a bus stop one minute walk away for trips up and down the coast or farther afield plus local taxis, and though parking is restricted in the street, two large car parks are located not far away.

This accommodation is perfect for single travellers looking for an interesting, friendly base from which to explore beautiful Dorset and South West England.

‘What a delight to discover a place that exceeds your expectations, especially when they are high to begin with! And so it was with Cynny's hospitality and her super comfy room for guests, you feel like family………….pop right across the lane to a unique bakery, quite possibly the best in town, for a wide selection of breads and pastries just out of the oven and a buffet to suit any appetite.’

‘Amazing stay, very close to the sea and such a lovely host. Best sleep ever.’
