Lyme Regis Town Information

Lyme Regis is a town like no other. Nestled around the mouth of the River Lym (the Buddle, to locals) in the steep embrace of the Undercliffs National Nature Reserve to the west and the fossil-rich Blue Lias cliffs to the east, it has kept the charm of almost 1,000 years of lively history, with each generation adding to the romance of its character.

Lyme is a pirate's treasure chest: whatever your age and whatever the time of year you will find jewels to delight and entertain you. For the very young those might be the sea creatures of millions of years ago, or the extraordinary vitality within a rock pool. Families can relax and enjoy the town's simple friendliness.
